Does anyone have any tips on SEo/wordPress best practices. I have Yoast and have been filling in the meta tags.

  • Craft a WordPress post that both search engines and users will adore WordPress headline (this will display automatically)
  • Eye-catching image that appeals to visitors landing on the page and those who see it shared on social media platforms.
  • Incorporate an H2 heading that rephrases your main title differently (perhaps another potential long-tail search query)
  • Add a brief teaser text that encourages readers to scroll or click to reveal more content beyond the preview on your blog's homepage.
  • Feature another H2 and a concise section that promotes the upcoming content.
  • Emphasize the value of the information you're about to share with your audience (keep them engaged and scrolling to discover the excitement).
  • Next, present them with another image (ensure this one includes data or an element that grabs their attention).
  • After building anticipation, you don't want them just scrolling to the end, right? Introduce a new segment with a fresh H2 and start delving into the details.
  • Following the build-up and the imagery, it's time to reveal some valuable insights to your readers. Maintain the flow with images, brief sections, and H2 and H3 headings. This approach structures the content, breaks it down, and gets users to pause and examine the images.

There's more to it than just using the Yoast plugin and filling in meta tags. Pay attention to the quality of your content. Make sure it is original, engaging, and valuable to your readers. Google and other search engines prioritize high-quality content that provides users with the information they're looking for.

Focus on keyword research. Identify the most relevant keywords for your content and incorporate them naturally throughout your text. However, avoid keyword stuffing, as search engines may penalize you for overusing keywords.

It's also essential to optimize your images for SEO. Use descriptive file names and alt tags that accurately describe the image's content. This helps search engines understand your images and can improve your website's accessibility for users with visual impairments.

Another important aspect is website speed. Ensure that your WordPress site loads quickly, as slow-loading websites can negatively impact your search engine rankings. Compress your images and use a caching plugin to improve your site's performance.

Don't forget about mobile optimization. With more people browsing the web on mobile devices, having a responsive and mobile-friendly design is crucial. Google also prioritizes mobile-friendly websites in its search results.

Work on building quality backlinks to your site. Reach out to reputable websites in your niche and establish relationships that can lead to natural link building. Guest posting on other blogs and participating in online communities can also help you gain valuable backlinks.

Make sure your website's structure is easy to navigate. A well-organized website with a clear hierarchy and logical URL structure will make it easier for search engines to crawl and index your content, resulting in better search engine rankings.
